Interrelationship of Building and Surroundings: The Díme Savings Bank is much smaller in scale than the buildings on either side. The arches relate well to those of the Central Building ( K-9 ) next door. It is part of a closely-knit streetscape on Lower Broadway.
Features: The facade features paired Ionic pilasters on either side which support an entablature and cornice on which is set a parapet Between the pilasters, three round - arched openings contain a central door flanked by large glass windows. The arches have mlded keystones. The double doors in the central arch of bronze and glass. Above the doors is a hood supported by consoles. The upper part of the opening is occupied by a window.

Importance: This is the third downtown building occupied by the Dime Savings Bank since its founding in 186 9. The Dime Savings Bank was one of the smaller downtown banks, and continues in operation to the present. The current building is the first one to have been built specifically for the bank.
Stylistically, the Dime Savings Bank is reminiscent of the more imposing series of banks built on Shetucket Street and the Chelsea Savings Bank at Main and Cliff Streets. Its restrained design complements many of the earlier buildings along lower Broadway.
